1957 Chevrolet 150 Custom Wagon - A True One of a Kind - $289,950 Some cars get restored. This one got completely reimagined, and the result is one of the most decorated tri five wagons in the country. Every panel on this 1957 Handyman wagon was reworked by hand. Doors and quarter glass run as a single piece of glass with the pillar and wing windows removed, the roof drip rail shaved, door handles and tailgate handle shaved with hidden mechanical releases. The fenders have had their side gills and peaks removed, the bumpers and grille are custom one offs, and the hood is a smoothed one off fiberglass piece with a custom painted graphic. Even the firewall and inner and outer fender wells were smoothed, with all plumbing and wiring routed out of sight. This is coachbuilt level metalwork on an American wagon, and it shows in every gap and every line. Underneath sits a Paul Newman Car Creations C4 chassis with Corvette suspension, smoothed, filled, and finished in Satin Ceramic Gray. C6 Z06 Corvette four wheel disc brakes handle stopping power, a Dana 44 rear runs 3.73 gears, and a hidden electronic e brake is tucked into the console. Power comes from a 430 horsepower LS3 V8 backed by a Tremec T56 Magnum six speed, so this wagon backs up the looks with real performance. The finish is Dodge Viper Ceramic Gray over black in Glasurit base clear, with bumpers and trim in Satin Titanium. Inside, seven hides of Relicate bright red leather cover modified power seats, custom door panels with aluminum inlays and laser etched leather, a smoothed dash with Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo with amplifier. The car rolls on staggered 19 and 20 inch Budnik Pilot wheels. This wagon has been judged by the toughest crowds in the hobby and has come out on top every time, with multiple Detroit Autorama wins including First Place in 2020 and 2022, Outstanding Custom Engine in 2020, Outstanding Custom Interior in 2022, and Outstanding Paint in 2022, plus a Top 10 Roadster Shop Builders Choice at Goodguys Columbus 2021 and a Top 25 finish at the Tri Five Nationals.
